I explore the complex relationship between environmental and cultural change. As cultures adapt to modern constraints and opportunities, environments are reshaped, and vice versa. Traditions and natural environments are altered simultaneously, both instigating and responding to change. I am inspired by the visual patterns and rhythms that comprise communities and their physical world. I create work that engages with viewers and physical space using intricate compilations of images and detailed mark making to evoke the multifaceted links to which I respond. I aim to create a dialogue about preservation and empowerment by using collaborative and interactive components. Through the experience of creating and observing art I challenge myself and others to take an active role in addressing and structuring change in the world by learning from one another, respecting our environments and strengthening our communities.
